Traditional Japanese Martial Arts Frankfort, Indiana
Karate & Jūjutsu
About

Azamikan Dōjō is part of Azami Linguistics and Martial Arts [ALMA].  ALMA's other main arm is Azami Press, which provides martial arts certificate, seal, and logo services.

Ours is a private traditional dōjō located in Frankfort, Indiana, which was established in order to preserve and offer disciplined instruction in the traditional martial arts of Japan.

We believe in training in the martial arts the traditional way without the interference of organizational politics and without the inherent impediments of a more commercialized atmosphere.

We belong to the
Sekai Dentōkan Bugei Renmei [World School of Traditional Martial Arts Federation], which was founded by Roy J. Hobbs as a means of providing instruction and certification in certain traditional martial arts of Japan.  Rank for both of the arts taught here is certified by this federation.

At Azamikan Dōjō, you can expect to find an atmosphere that is simple and disciplined yet friendly and welcoming.  A strong emphasis is placed on the comprehension and application of the underlying principles of effective technique as well as a strict adherence to proper protocol.

There are two arts that are represented at Azamikan Dōjō, which are Jūjutsu and Karatedō.  The former is a traditional Japanese military art while the latter is classified as a modern art that has traditional roots in Okinawa.

It is important to note that within a given art, there are varying styles that exist.  The specific style of Jūjutsu that is taught at our dōjō is called Dentōkan.  The style of Karatedō that we study is Shōrin Ryū.
